The Museum of Post and Telecommunications is a museum in Polhov Gradec presenting the history of mail and telecommunications. It was established in 1985 and is the oldest communications institution in the country. It stems from the tradition of the Museum of the Hungarian Crown Post Office, established in Budapest in 1887. The museum, which from 1985 until 2008 operated at Loka Castle in Škofja Loka, now resides at Polhov Gradec Manor. It is a branch of the Technical Museum of Slovenia. It has several sections, including a section on the role of women as switchboard operators and telegraphists. It also keeps a collection of stamps. Manor house is the same as years ago. Upper floor is good museum, organized mainly for younger generation. It leads you from old times up to modern mobile phones. Ground floor with some local tourist.... more

Very nice small museum which introduces history of posts and telecommunications. You can also marry here. Or visit one of the events during the year.

Great museum with many of interactive parts. Loved the exhibition of mobile phones. They also have a interaktive screen where you can play some games. They also organize worshops for kids, families and elderly. You can even have a birthday party experience.

We actually arrive by car in front of the museum. The entrance fee is 5 € per person. Children up to 4 years have free entry. The tour is interesting because it offers many things that were experienced not so long ago.
