Town Hall, Ljubljana
(4.3/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
With its high pediment topped with a clock tower, Town Hall stands out from other buildings lining a vast cobbled square. Climb the massive stairway to reach a triple-arched stone portico and a Venetian-style balcony. Notice a late Gothic plate with the city's coat of arms, preserved from the original building. A sculpture depicting Hercules and a lion in the vestibule was brought in from the 17th-century Hercules Fountain. The inner courtyard occasionally hosts art or history exhibits, and some oil paintings decorate the interior walls. Notice the impressionist painting of a symphony orchestra, which may well be the orchestra Gustave Mahler led when he was young. • the municipality of Ljubljana is a building very well preserved and maintained. You can visit the internal courtyards and there is always some exhibition of painting or sculpture. This year was made much reference to the city which was named green Capital of Europe. A source of water is located in front of the building where van Street artisans or artists to express themselves.

  • Temporary art exhibitions and Ljubljana development. Nice building. Open late in the evening.
  • A beautiful town hall and just to the right a great little wine bar with Slovenia's best bottles. Wine is a very serious matter here, ask in the town hall.
  • Very pretty building that perfectly symbolizes the old town. The fountain in front and the facade are very pretty and recently restored. The inside hosts several exhibitions, some of which are free. Very nice courtyard as well.
  • Beautiful town hall, a good place to meet friends.
  • The Mayor's office. :-)
