Town Hall, Ljubljana
Categories: Government Buildings, Tourist Spots
With its high pediment topped with a clock tower, Town Hall stands out from other buildings lining a vast cobbled square. Climb the massive stairway to reach a triple-arched stone portico and a Venetian-style balcony. Notice a late Gothic plate with the city's coat of arms, preserved from the original building. A sculpture depicting Hercules and a lion in the vestibule was brought in from the 17th-century Hercules Fountain. The inner courtyard occasionally hosts art or history exhibits, and some oil paintings decorate the interior walls. Notice the impressionist painting of a symphony orchestra, which may well be the orchestra Gustave Mahler led when he was young. Bem enquadrado na arquitectura local, não possui nada que o faça destacar, ao contrário de outras cidades europeias. Pode se visitar o interior do edifício.Well framed in the local architecture, does not have anything to do, unlike other European cities. You can visit the interior of the building.show original
A beautiful town hall and just to the right a great little wine bar with Slovenia's best bottles. Wine is a very serious matter here, ask in the town hall.
Beautiful town hall, a good place to meet friends.
Very pretty building that perfectly symbolizes the old town. The fountain in front and the facade are very pretty and recently restored. The inside hosts several exhibitions, some of which are free. Very nice courtyard as well.
The Mayor's office. :-)
