Town Hall, Ljubljana

4.4
With its high pediment topped with a clock tower, Town Hall stands out from other buildings lining a vast cobbled square. Climb the massive stairway to reach a triple-arched stone portico and a Venetian-style balcony. Notice a late Gothic plate with the city's coat of arms, preserved from the original building. A sculpture depicting Hercules and a lion in the vestibule was brought in from the 17th-century Hercules Fountain. The inner courtyard occasionally hosts art or history exhibits, and some oil paintings decorate the interior walls. Notice the impressionist painting of a symphony orchestra, which may well be the orchestra Gustave Mahler led when he was young. Rover fountain located in front of the building is the largest building. Located in the town hall building in the square and the presentations as well as triple-Roche was the square in your travel to Ljubljana, Rennes Assistant is building.

The old city hall building, which takes beautiful Ljubljana breath away when you look at it. Dating back to the 15th century, when the local places are closely linked to the Republic of Venice-where fashion came to this pattern. Well, the modern appearance of the building took a hundred and fifty years ago, when it was expanded, and give the new building a look similar to the old ones.

This building houses town office, and is just below the Castle which only makes the view that better. Located a few dozen meters from Tromostovje, so easy to check it out.  more »

  • It was built in 1484 in a Gothic style and underwent a Baroque renovation with a Venetian inspiration between 1717 and 1719.
  • Would be nice to have a guide all the time
  • Temporary art exhibitions and Ljubljana development. Nice building. Open late in the evening.
  • Very pretty building that perfectly symbolizes the old town. The fountain in front and the facade are very pretty and recently restored. The inside hosts several exhibitions, some of which are free. Very nice courtyard as well.
  • Beautiful town hall, a good place to meet friends.

Where to stay in Ljubljana

One of Europe's smaller capitals, Ljubljana offers fairly limited sleeping options, with most of its three- and four-star hotel rooms concentrated in and around the expensive city center. Travelers on a limited budget can explore the city's hostels, which offer small rooms with access to shared restrooms and common dining areas. If you need more privacy and space, rent an apartment on the outskirts of town, or check into one of the family-run guesthouses near the city's international airport.
