  • On a late august monday morning the central market is really not worth a visit - unless you want fresh fruit or cheap clothing. Nothing else to see or buy.  more »

  • A great place to visit. Lots of fruit and vegetables for sale. I had two favourite stalls... the lady selling sauerkraut from vats has to be worth a visit if you’re a tourist. For a euro she’ll sell you a huge container full of home prepared local delicacy. I didn’t realise how much I’d love the stuff. And the woman running the fresh fish lunch bar is great... the fried sardines where superb despite looking like they were small. And for less than €5! A lovely city and the market adds to the ambience.
  • Busy but most enjoyable. Lots of gifts and trinkets on offer. Be sure to try some of the local fruit and veg (which is cheaper than buying from the Slovenian supermarkets) and the milk vending machines.
  • Great food options on a Friday and Saturday night in summer when local stalls take over and provide wonderful dining options from all over the world, as well as a great selection of local beers and wine. The Indian roti and curry stall was hard to beat, until I discovered the paella stall...
  • As markets go, it's up there with the best of them. Good produce at decent prices but I did find the clothing was a little expensive for a market. There was some tasty and different food to try and I found the stall holders to be very friendly. A good experience.
  • Loved this part of Ljubljana. We were lucky to be around when they had food festival every Friday night. Great atmosphere and food.
