Dragon Bridge (Zmajski Most), Ljubljana

(4/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Walk across the Art Nouveau Dragon Bridge (Zmajski Most) and admire the four large dragons protecting its corners, symbols from the city's coat-of-arms. Built at the very beginning of the 20th century, it was the city's first reinforced concrete bridge and Slovenia's first bridge paved with asphalt. Floral motifs decorate its arch and railings, while smaller griffins embellish the plinths of its eight bronze candelabras. Notice the dashes of red paint at the dragons' mouths and claws, recent additions by an anonymous enthusiast. Use our Ljubljana itinerary planner to add Dragon Bridge (Zmajski Most) and other attractions to your Ljubljana vacation plans.

  • Slight improvement over your average bridge as it has the benefit of some nice eye candy in the form of dragon statues. If there was an award ceremony for Ljubljana bridges this one would certainly be in with a good chance of a medal. To be fair all the other bridges are also quite good if you consider the alternative would be to swim across.
  • ja. že dolgo je tam
  • They've made a good bridge, gourded too!
  • Vienna secession style that offers beautiful view on ljubljanica and ljubljana castle
  • It's unique thing to see. I'm wondering when was the last time they clead that up cuz it's all dirty and people take pics like that of it.
