  • This market is bustling on a Saturday, and has some lovely produce. However, when chatting to some Slovenians in the city, they said that it was quite expensive so not frequented that much by locals.
  • To fill with seasonal fruit, plain and cold cuts and cheeses (ideal to prepare a picnic). Very nice place on a river.

  • Over the years getting worse and that's a shame. Stunning location, beautiful hotel but now operators are scarce and those that are have little interesting. Too bad because it's still the capital and could with little effort to return to the ancient pomp with little ...

  • Nice place with beautiful arcades from most famous slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.
  • You can buy home grown vegetables here. I also recommend coming here on fridays to the event Open kitchen, where you can get takeaway food from a lot of good restaurants.
  • We were lucky enough to stumble on this on a Saturday morning during our short stay in Ljubljana. Tons of great food vendors from Japanese to Argentinian to Slovenian. They have an area with picnic tables. Also a fountain to wash your hands or fill your water bottle. If you head over towards the Dragon Bridge, there is an actual farmers market with veggies and fruit.
  • A small central market. Fresh food and other wares every Saturday
  • Lovely farmers' market, it's a local tradition to come there on Saturday morning. There's a "mlekomat", fresh milk from a vending machine. On Fridays, check out "Odprta kuhna", fancy local restaurants offering their menus to go. Or "Pivo & Burger Fest" on weekends, local beer and burgers.
