Butcher's Bridge, Ljubljana

Categories: Bridges, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.1/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web
Butcher's Bridge is a sort of an open-air gallery featuring sculptures and miniatures by contemporary Slovenian artist Jakov Brdar. While another famous Slovenian artist, Joze Plecnik, conceived the bridge in 1930s, the modern bridge, with a stairway at its left entry and glass walkways at the sides, is much simpler than the original plan. Walk among figures like Adam and Eve, Satyr and Prometheus, and take in great view of the city. Note the multitude of love locks that have been attached to the railing and even some sculptures. • The bridge is located in the area of the market in the middle of the city center. it has a lot of locks and from there you can make some nice pictures of the other bridges
  • This bridge is nice to see, many people place padlocks on the bridge , have seen this in many cities i have visited. Lovely
  • strange and funny (or creepy?) the sculptures that adorn. definitely would improve by removing all padlocks
