  • There’s not a tour or anything, but the story behind the chapel is compelling. We only stayed about 15 minutes to walk around a bit, but some people were listening to a audio explanation.

  • It's got a little parking lay-by, which, if you are lucky, will be free, and it is well worth taking a stop here. Lovely to see and lots of benches dotted around.

  • Special place that you must see. It has really high historical meaning and also it looks beautiful! In the middle of nature going towards Vršič. Be careful - park on the places where it’s allowed
  • Beautiful location devoted to the memory of russian prisoners of war that were buried under an avalanche whilst constructing the road leading to mountain pass Vršič.
  • Beautifull chapel with a sad history. Russian POWs in WWI were building a difficult stretch of road in the mountains. Some were killed in an avalanche, and then their comarades asked for (and were granted) permission from the Austrians to build a chapel to commemorate their friends. It wasnt possible to enter, but the yard is nice and chapel is very nice even from outside.
  • Mysterious and historical feelings, right at the start of the adventurous Vrsic Pass! For parking; a little bit more up on the other side of the road.
  • Incredible story from World War I (see the pictures).
