THis round structurre belonged to the cathedral, was used most probably as baptistery. You can only admire from outside - it is really great to have it in this condition.

Supposedly the oldest Baptistery in Slovenia. Looks lovely from the outside albeit a car park is right beside it. But sadly it wasn't open and no opening times displayed.

According to its preserved design, the sacral building is a baptistery. It stands on the north side of the Koper Cathedral, somewhere halfway between Tito Square and Brolo. The Rotunda is built in the Romanesque-Gothic style, experts have not yet precisely dated it, but it is said to have been created somewhere between the 10th and 12th centuries, which means that it ranks among the oldest monuments of the city. It was once part of a Romanesque sacral complex that included a basilica with a crypt and a baptistery and a free-standing tower. The baptistery reflects the features of Romanesque architecture; it has a typical Romanesque facade, semicircular windows and lisenes.
