Teran in Kraško belo. Prva vina smo stekleničili l. 1990 (ali letnik 1988).

Vina Čotar na etiketah označujejo prstni odtisi. S tem izražamo prepričanje v ponujena vina, nakazujemo njihovo samosvojost in medsebojno različnost, s prstnim odtisom vino simbolično podpišemo. Bela vina z odtisi palca podpisuje sin Vasja, rdeča pa oče - Branko Čotar.

Our family's farm and vineyards, cellar, and house are located in the western portion of the Karst, in the village of Gorjansko, only about 5 km distant from the sea.More than 30 years ago, more specifically in 1974, we produced the first wine for our own restaurant. We bottled wine for the first time in 1990 (vintage 1988).

Čotar wines use a label featuring our thumbprints, expressing our confidence in the quality of the wine offered, and its uniqueness and its distinctiveness. The thumbprint is our symbolic signature. White wines are signed with the thumbprint of son Vasja, red wines with that of father Branko Čotar.

  • Terrific eatery run by one of the vineyards finest wine craftsman. Its only open on weekends. Regional specialities tantalise and fill the lining of your stomach. But its the breed of wines...

  • We came to the winery through a winemakers recommendation. We travelled only for the degustation menu as discussed with the wine-makers beforehand. However we didn’t have the chance to try the wine - at the pre-booked appointment a grumpy man waited for us with the news that he has only 45 minutes for us to shove 7 wines and that he has friends coming over soon. Not sure if their wines are good, but hospitality is absent.
  • Such an incredible dining experience. Lovely people. Amazing food. And the wines are simply too good. Long live the natty wines xo
  • Truly outstanding wines in Kras
  • An exceptional place, immersed in a fantastic territory. For wine lovers it is absolutely worth a visit. For those who love natural wines, here we are in paradise. They are also special people, spontaneous, authentic, hospitable and deeply convinced of what they do and how they do it. A visit to the cellar is a must, there are bottles from the early 90s, perfectly preserved, but also later, more accessible vintages. Local wines, such as Terrano, to try, and international ones.
  • Wine biodynamic. Member of Renaissance appellations. Kras Plateau. Local grapes: red Teran (Refosco Terrano south) to marry with a good kebab and white Malvasia.
