Kozjak Waterfall, Kobarid

4.7
Must see · Waterfall · Nature / Park
The Kozjak Brook cascades over many slopes, forming the six picturesque Kozjak Waterfall along its way. Walk from Kobarid through a lush forest along the river to reach Great Kozjak, one of the two accessible falls. On your way there you can make a short detour and see the remains of the World War I bunkers on the right. Cross a swing bridge and walk over a slippery limestone path to reach the wooden observation deck. Plunging from a height of 15 m (50 ft), the waterfall carves a dim underground chamber that looks like a rocky amphitheater. The chamber's increasingly narrow walls resemble karst caves and the vast turquoise pool covers its bottom. • Spectacular waterfall. The hike to it is gorgeous along the creek. It feels so secluded to be behind the wall looking at the waterfall. Make sure to build a cairn in the river on your way up!
  • lovely walk through nature with a beautiful waterfall at the end. the only problem was that there were a lot of tourists so we only just a few minutes to look at and take pictures of the waterfall as the viewpoint is very small.
  • Wonderful Waterfall, really loved the path to the Waterfall and the Waterfall itself. The water are really good but very cold. Better to park before entering camping Lazar, the path to the Waterfall is shorter and you pass a cool hanging bridge.
  • I was absolutely enchanted by this waterfall, it's right out of a fairytale. The colours, the location, perfect! It is about 20 to 30 minutes hike up over al gravelled path. There is a parking lot at the beginning of the path. There is a small entrance fee.
  • less toured than the other waterfalls, this one was much more fun and interesting - the walk is fairly easy for small children (my 5 Y/O did it with no problems), the scenary is diverse, and you can get very close to the waterfall itself! Don't miss the paths that reach the river itself when heading back - it's greenish color is amazing up close!
