4.8/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web
Cut deep between two hills overgrown with beech forests, Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar) is full of small waterfalls, rapids, and erosion potholes. Cartographer and photographer Benedikt Lergetporer and mayor of Gorje Jakob Zumer discovered the gorge in 1891. Walk along the tourist path with narrow passages, wooden bridges, and galleries, constructed on the rocks in 1893. Listen to the roar of Radovna River echoing along the 1.6 km (1 mi) long gorge marked at the end by a waterfall plunging 16 m (52 ft). The gorge also features two manmade attractions: an arched stone railway bridge from 1906 and a dam. When you reach the end of the gorge, walk back across the meadows passing St. Catherine's church. Put Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar) and other Bled attractions into our Bled tourist route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Lovely scenic walk with crystal clear water! Cheaper entry available for students. Has a small café for snacks etc
  • Lovely waterfall views accessible via boardwalk. Total walk takes about an hour along basically flat walkways with some stairs. GREAT photo ops!

  • It's good if you like walking. It takes about 3 to 4km to get there. The view is so good and the water is crystal clear. Sometimes rainbows can be seen when the sunshine hits the mist at the right spot. Most people would head back once they reach the cafe checkpoint. Beyond that is the national park.
  • A really gorgeous gorge. It took about 40min to walk the from Lake Bled, and only costs a few Euros for entrance. There is also a place that sells icecream and a few other treats along the walk. A cool respite when it's hot, and an easy walk along boardwalk for picturesque views. I could have spent a lot longer than 2 hours here. A must-do if you are in the area.
  • Another beautiful bled sight - worth the hike. On the way back go on towards Sv Katarina instead of going back on your own tracks
  • very nice, beautifull place, watch out for tics, many of my friends got borelia there...
  • A beautiful walk through a narrow gorge. Can be very cold in winter, but lovely and cool on a hot sunny day. Well worth the €4 entry as the walkways need constant maintenance. Do not forget your camera!! Can be a bit tricky to find as not well signposted. Nice restaurant on site.
