Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar), Bled
(4.7/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Cut deep between two hills overgrown with beech forests, Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar) is full of small waterfalls, rapids, and erosion potholes. Cartographer and photographer Benedikt Lergetporer and mayor of Gorje Jakob Zumer discovered the gorge in 1891. Walk along the tourist path with narrow passages, wooden bridges, and galleries, constructed on the rocks in 1893. Listen to the roar of Radovna River echoing along the 1.6 km (1 mi) long gorge marked at the end by a waterfall plunging 16 m (52 ft). The gorge also features two manmade attractions: an arched stone railway bridge from 1906 and a dam. When you reach the end of the gorge, walk back across the meadows passing St. Catherine's church. Put Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar) and other Bled attractions into our Bled tourist route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The gap is very poor. You should really by very narrow jobs (where you think you no longer can you have even further drive), you can park at the entrance. For access, you need to pay 4 euro per person. You can walk in 2 directions, more explanation at the entrance. It is very nice, worth a visit. Even in the rain there is a magical atmosphere in the air. The paths are good, sturdy and not hard to take. At the time we were there it was not pressure. I can imagine that when the weather is nice, the more difficult will be to at rest to be able to benefit from the environment. However, you should do this if you are in the area!

  • Beautiful gorge with high cliffs on the side. Boardwalk was in good condition. We spent about 2 hours there. As we went there by bike, we had to go back through the gorge again. If you go there by train, you could probably go back from a different station you came from and not go through the gorge again. It was quite busy in the afternoon but after 6pm it got very quiet and there were almost no people there anymore.
  • Magnificent place with outstanding views! Recommended to visit first time in the morning, since the trail is quite narrow and even an hour after the opening the place is flooded with visitors, aside of the great amounts of water. After visiting the biggest waterfall, usually most of the visitors go back the way they come. However, there is also another trail, but it's more than an hour longer and mostly under the sun.
  • A lovely walk in the woods. Not challenging at all, assuming you go out the way you came in. I was so tempted to jump into the very cold waters. Download the Slovenia Trails app to see hiking trails in the surrounding area. 4 euro entry cash only.
  • Very nice views and beautiful water. You can't swim here.it can be tough if there are lots of people as the walkway is narrow and you can get caught behind slowpokes. There is a bus from the main part of town that can take you there and back.
  • Just a few kilometres away from Lake Bled. Fantastic board walk thru a gorge hovering above a fast flowing torrent which culminates into a pretty waterfall. Get your walking shoes, small snack & water. Super nature walk :)
