  • Historical site of World War II. The battle of the Dukla pass was one of the key battles between 1944 and 1945 for the passage of the Carpathians to the panonnienne plain of the Red Army. It's kinda the Monte Cassino of the Carpathians. The clash between the two German and Soviet armies was appalling and including this fight tanks in the upper Valley of the Carpathians. A monument at the entrance of the Valley illustrates the clash of armored titans.
