The Kremnica Mint (Slovak: Mincovňa Kremnica) is a state-owned mint situated in Kremnica, Slovakia. The predecessor of current Mincovňa Kremnica, š. p. (štátny podnik = state company) was established in 1328, and for nearly seven centuries it has continuously been producing mint articles.HistoryKremnica Mint was established in 1328 when Kremnica was promoted to a free royal town by the Hungarian King Charles Robert of Anjou; the mint issued several kinds of coins early on, of which the most successful was its ducat. Kremnica ducats were well-known because of their good quality and were considered the hardest currency in Central Europe. Available historical records report that 21.5 million ducats were minted at the Kremnica Mint throughout its history. The aggregate value of this amount, measured at today's prices of gold, would be three billion US dollars (exclusive of the numismatic value). The mint became very outdated by the beginning of the 20th century, and many called for new equipment and for the mint to be moved to Budapest. However, this did not happen until the end of World War I. As the Czech troops invaded Northern Hungary, the Károlyi government ordered to move the equipment and noble metal stock to Budapest. The Hungarian Government started to mint the first coins with the faulty machines and worn-out dies in Csepel. Even coins minted in 1922 bore the KB mint mark.Arrange to visit Mincovna Kremnica and other attractions in Kremnica using our Kremnica day trip planner .

Mincovna Kremnica Reviews
Návštěvu Kremnice jsme plánovali jako jeden den z naší dovolené a mincovna samozřejmě nesměla chybět. Temín návštěvy mincovny jsme si zarezervovali týden dopředu. Dobře jsme udělali. Po krátkém videu ... more »Visit Centrál we planned as one day of our vacation and, of course, could not miss the Mint. Temín visits the Mint we just booked a week in advance. Well we did. After a short video at the beginning we went to visit the old Mint. Here, we learned all about the production of coins, from design to production. On some machines, we were clearly shown how they work. Then we went on a tour of the new Mint. After the tour can be purchased at the box office and gift shop, too it is possible to go roll coin. Everywhere in the premises it is possible to take pictures. Also, the ticket is interesting-what else-the coin. Visitors to the Centrál I suggest.
Navštívil som Kremnicu viackrát a Mincovňu tak isto. Vždy sa dozviem niečo nové, vždy si kúpim dáky suvenír, no a dnes som si vlastnoručne vyrazil mincu. Naozaj sa je na čo pozerať. Môžem iba doporuči... more »I visited Kremnicu several times and Mint as well. I always learn something new everytime I buy a souvenir and dáky, but today I'm knocked out by hand the coin. Really, it is something to look at. I can only recommend
Zaujímavá prehliadka a príjemný komentár s ukážkami. Na záver vlastnoručne vyrazená minca. Napadiva vstupenka - minca. more »An interesting tour and enjoyable commentary with demonstrations. At the conclusion of the rolling minted coin. Napadiva ticket-coin.
historical place with a lot of wonderful coins from many pcorners of the globe :-)
On the whole a nice Museum, but your always get into a new can and we've been told enough, when the place of this part of the nam got video.
The show caught the eye of both children and adults. A smart young man who accompanies the answer to each question. The functionality of the old machines by surprise. Without the coin collection neodidete.
Very interesting. Take a tour of the functioning of the original preview. The ability to hit the coin.
