Cathedral of St. Elizabeth (Dom svatej Alzbety), Kosice

4.8
Slovakia's largest church, Cathedral of St. Elizabeth (Dom svatej Alzbety) also serves as the town's premier landmark. Today the structure displays many different aspects of its mixed architectural heritage, thanks to a number of add-ons and restorations. Enter the 14th-century cathedral and get an up-close look at the interior double-spiral staircase, a rarity in terms of construction. Wander the inner sections of the building, passing intricate frescoes and sculptures as you go. Make sure to stop by the altar of St. Elisabeth backed by an ornate glass window and vaulted ceilings. Climb 60 m (197 ft) to the top of the bell tower for a panoramic view over the city and surrounding hills. • The Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Košice. Monument of architecture. Built in the Gothic style. St. Elizabeth's Cathedral is the largest church in Slovakia and one of the most Eastern of the historical Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Very beautiful place to visit!

  • The marvelous beauty of the stone lace. You can photograph for 2 euros. There are plaques, marble, wall, engraved with gratitude. There is a stand with electric candles-for a certain fee, you can include one. At the entrance to manually feather giant, issued about such phrases: "If you are a Catholic, then come on in and remember that the Church is the House of God, and do not forget to genuflect before the ban. If you're not Catholic, Christian, then remember that the Church is the House of our common God. If you're an unbeliever, then remember that the Church is a monument of culture and art, and behave accordingly. There is a separate entrance for people in a wheelchair. Temple visited. On Monday a service it's about hundreds of locals who created the queue in Reggie's confessionary booth.

  • St. Elisabeth Cathedral is a beautiful cathedral with a special story. Also the architecture is absolutely stunning from the outside as well as the inside, even though from the inside some parts look really new and don't really fit in.
  • Most dominant and beautiful cathedral in Slovakia. Just visit and enjoy the architecture. Looks best in winter with all the lights on.
  • Great building. Freemasonry signs on some of the windows, be sure to take a pic of that :)
  • This Cathedral is one of the biggest Gothic churches in middle Europe, and a must see if you come to visit this city.
  • The biggest gothic church in Slovakia. Spectacular
