Slovakia's largest church, Cathedral of St. Elizabeth (Dom svatej Alzbety) also serves as the town's premier landmark. Today the structure displays many different aspects of its mixed architectural heritage, thanks to a number of add-ons and restorations. Enter the 14th-century cathedral and get an up-close look at the interior double-spiral staircase, a rarity in terms of construction. Wander the inner sections of the building, passing intricate frescoes and sculptures as you go. Make sure to stop by the altar of St. Elisabeth backed by an ornate glass window and vaulted ceilings. Climb 60 m (197 ft) to the top of the bell tower for a panoramic view over the city and surrounding hills. • Unfortunately we couldn't only at night on the road in the Center. However, we have enjoyed this wonderful sight and envy all those who had time to look at this gem alone and to rise to the top.
