Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava

(4.6/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Set on a peninsula extending into the Danube River, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum boasts an extensive collection of modern artwork from international artists. Designed to resemble a sort of modernist Roman galley, the sleek museum features a large collection of pieces from the Netherlands because of founder Gerard Meulensteen's own Dutch heritage. You'll also find plenty of works representing Slovakia, the U.S., and other European countries. Swing by the gift shop and pick up an art-related souvenir or print of one of the museum's pieces. You can also stroll through the grounds outside to admire a series of modern art sculptures.
