Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava

(4.6/5 based on 220 reviews on the web)
Set on a peninsula extending into the Danube River, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum boasts an extensive collection of modern artwork from international artists. Designed to resemble a sort of modernist Roman galley, the sleek museum features a large collection of pieces from the Netherlands because of founder Gerard Meulensteen's own Dutch heritage. You'll also find plenty of works representing Slovakia, the U.S., and other European countries. Swing by the gift shop and pick up an art-related souvenir or print of one of the museum's pieces. You can also stroll through the grounds outside to admire a series of modern art sculptures. • This museum is in a beautiful setting along the water with a great collection of modern art from all over the world. It's quite far from the old city but well worth the effort to get here.
  • For those who like modern art, this is an amazing place to be. I loved it. Go in the daytime, as there are things to see outside of the museum, under an open sky, which you won`t see in the darkness s...  more »
  • The collection and the exhibition (Dokoupil J. G.) are negligible in my opinion, but as a sum of art and architecture, the Museum makes a great pleasure. That the weather was bad and were therefore a few visitors in the House was during our visit, Nice.

  • It' a great place to visit, it's our first gallery of modern art, located on the river Danube damm. Great views by sunny weather, and a full art experience guaranteed ;)
  • Nice location, inside and out, clean, nice coffee shop. Interesting art. Worth a short visit and not too expensive.
  • I ahte useums and this place was a delight. Manageable size, well worth the admittance fee
  • I have been here twice, it's always impressing :) the architecture of the building is designed so that you can admire paintings and find the Danube 2 meters away from you. I totally recommend this place! They have discount for students!
  • Very nice place. Home of modern art in Bratislava. Very nice view over the Danube. Pleasant atmosphere.
