Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava

(4.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Set on a peninsula extending into the Danube River, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum boasts an extensive collection of modern artwork from international artists. Designed to resemble a sort of modernist Roman galley, the sleek museum features a large collection of pieces from the Netherlands because of founder Gerard Meulensteen's own Dutch heritage. You'll also find plenty of works representing Slovakia, the U.S., and other European countries. Swing by the gift shop and pick up an art-related souvenir or print of one of the museum's pieces. You can also stroll through the grounds outside to admire a series of modern art sculptures. • Discovered with Trip not knowing how to spend a Sunday afternoon, the Danube is a modern art gallery located on an artificial Peninsula on the Danube where the locks form a lake. Great place to visit with children for the presence of the outdoor garden and see the boats that go back and descend the River through the locks. Works very nice and well arranged. Very friendly environment, no one checks the ticket and the view that plunges into the Danube from inside the gallery. Worthy of attention.

  • Liked again. I can only recommend the gallery. Please enough time divide, just sit down, drink coffee and enjoy the atmosphere.

  • It' a great place to visit, it's our first gallery of modern art, located on the river Danube damm. Great views by sunny weather, and a full art experience guaranteed ;)
  • Nice location, inside and out, clean, nice coffee shop. Interesting art. Worth a short visit and not too expensive.
  • I ahte useums and this place was a delight. Manageable size, well worth the admittance fee
  • I have been here twice, it's always impressing :) the architecture of the building is designed so that you can admire paintings and find the Danube 2 meters away from you. I totally recommend this place! They have discount for students!
  • Very nice place. Home of modern art in Bratislava. Very nice view over the Danube. Pleasant atmosphere.
