Relive one of the most turbulent periods in Slovakia's history at Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, a facility dedicated to the country's experience during World War II. Though the uprising was militarily defeated, it was symbolic of a nation that refused to give in. Stop by the museum, housed in a distinctly Communist-style concrete building, and trace the nation's development during the war, beginning with the German takeover and ending with its liberation at the hands of the resistance movement and the Soviet and Czechoslovakian Armies. Get an up-close view of weapons, personal items, letters, correspondences, and more in the exhibits. Outside, see the display of military vehicles and visit the tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the bridge. • For me, this museum has become a real revelation. That's really what did not expect to see in Banska Bystrica so it's such a museum. First of all, I did not know about this rebellion-Slovak Jews together with Soviet Polish, Czech, American soldiers revolted. It is considered to be one of the largest in the history of the second world war. A great many military equipment: tanks, cannons, light voooruženie, lots of pictures on which the goosebumps.
