Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, Banska Bystrica
(3.8/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Relive one of the most turbulent periods in Slovakia's history at Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, a facility dedicated to the country's experience during World War II. Though the uprising was militarily defeated, it was symbolic of a nation that refused to give in. Stop by the museum, housed in a distinctly Communist-style concrete building, and trace the nation's development during the war, beginning with the German takeover and ending with its liberation at the hands of the resistance movement and the Soviet and Czechoslovakian Armies. Get an up-close view of weapons, personal items, letters, correspondences, and more in the exhibits. Outside, see the display of military vehicles and visit the tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the bridge. • The museum is located in a beautiful park, near the museum is the exhibition of machinery of 2 world war.
  • Overall, not a bad selection of weapons and equipment from World War II, but here's a movie that demonstrate our entire shock threw it into the group. Usually in documentaries about Nazi Germany first show its uplift is a powerful army, beautiful shape, the inhabitants of the conquered countries, you Fascists flowers and beautiful children throws "Ridge". Then show the horrors that are created in the occupied territories. And finally how to tips, with Americans or without them, hollow natsik. IN THIS MUSEUM THE SECOND PART NO. THERE ARE BEAUTIFUL NATSIK AND TIPS THEM WHY THE BEAT ... Like to regret the Nazis?!

  • The building certainly interesting-such ulítlá Communist architecture. Excellent is exposed to AFV Museum-unfortunately sometimes not very gently restored-in the guise of fallen leaves in autumn and a darkly romantic. Custom exposure inside, we were rather disappointed. Plus, the Lady at the register was not twice. Perfect was the modern section devoted to the wreck of the tank LT 38.
