(2.9/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web)
The Centrepoint is a shopping mall in Singapore which opened in 1983 as Centrepoint Shopping Centre (or just Centrepoint) until its renaming in 2006 as The Centrepoint.FeaturesThe mall has anchor tenants Metro Departmental Store and clothing retailer Gap after Robinsons, Marks & Spencer and The Dairy Farm Group (7-Eleven, Cold Storage, Guardian Pharmacy and Photo Finish) cease operating at the mall. The Centrepoint is managed by Frasers Centrepoint Limited which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fraser & Neave. It has six storeys and two basements.Retail and food and beverage outlets are on the first basement to the fifth floor, while on the sixth floor are a car park, offices and an education centre. There are two car parks in the building, one at basement two and another on levels 4–6. The Centrepoint has residential apartments at the back of the building. In 2005, Fraser & Neave announced that the mall would be going under a major revamp, the first since its opening. The revamp included a six-storey extension with two basements which was previously a sidewalk. The second basement to the third floor would be for food and beverage outlets and shops, and the fourth to sixth floors would be an extension of Robinsons. The renovation works were completed in December 2006, and there is now a Gap store on the second floor and an Esprit store on the third floor.

  • Love the wide range of eateries the mall has after the renovation. Its location is at quieter stretch of Orchard-Somerset, i.e. away from the bustling crowds. Very convenient too as it is just a 5 minutes walk from the train station.
  • After renovation, it's so much better with a lots of dining option. One of the quiet spot along the orchard shopping belt. I like it less busy here.
  • This was THE place to go when I was a teen in the late 80s. Now it's the place NOT to go, especially after their chief tenant, Robinsons, moved out. That was the heart and soul of this mall. Now, it's just a souless eyesore in Orchard Rd.
  • First time visiting since the major reno. The interior now has a livelier feel. Anchor tenant is now Metro. Also has more dining options.
  • Pokémon aplenty here ;) Apart from that, quite a good mix of eateries and shops although the layout of the mall is a bit confusing. I also liked the place better when it was Robinson's.
