Where to stay in Singapore

For leading chain hotels, head to the area around Orchard Road, considered the tourist center of Singapore due to its varied selection of rooms, good travel links, and tourist-focused businesses. At the eastern end of the road, you'll find more luxurious and expensive options, with hotels located in impressive colonial-era architecture. North and south of this main artery, backpacker hostels and budget hotels provide affordable rooms with basic facilities.

  • The best nyonya Rempah (Sambal) Udang I ever had. Priced at $1.50/pc. It's a bit pricey but it's all worth the price! Very good service. The lady owner was kind enough to allow me to savor that 1pc th...  more »

  • Very interesting place...it's a retail shop with 3 tables for dine-in on the weekends. They also sell take away pastries and packed food during the week. I believe the menu changes week to week. I felt like I was having a meal at someone's home, and the staff were very friendly. The table was situated within the retail shop so it a surreal experience when tourists walked through to look at the display.
  • Very famous for Peranakan style kitchen wares but you should check whether it is open before visiting.
  • Preserve the old school
  • Peranakan items and authentic food on weekends.
  • Cute Peranakan gadgets you can buy. The selling is fun to watch, but when? Older products such as and.
