River Safari, Singapore
Categories: Zoos & Aquariums, Gardens, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Explore the ecosystems of some of the world's great rivers at River Safari. You can visit exhibits inspired by many of the world's great rivers, including the Nile, Congo, and Yangtze. Keep an eye out for the stars of the show, the zoo's two giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia. You can also see smaller red pandas and exotic pheasants in the pandas' forest. Finally, take a boat ride through the jungle on the Amazon River Quest. Don't buy your tickets for the boat ride in advance, as organizers reserve the right to cancel this activity in case of rains. Our visit was part of a special Parkhopper Pass ticket (which was extremely good value - ability to visit 4 parks in a 7-day period) and we decided to combine this with the night safari. Unfortunately... read more »
Generally poor. A few fish, a few animals and a dreadful boat ride round a lake. Nice pandas and nice manatees. Don't bother.
River Safari is just beside the Singapore Zoo and we opted to go here because it will need shorter time for us to have the tour and we had to go to other place in the afternoon. It was worth the trip.... read more »
The newest zoo in Singapore (up to this point). Very well maintained, the animals are well fed and taken care responsibly. Of course, the 2 pandas are everyone's favourites. But some of my favourites also include the red pandas (just before you visit the pandas), the big crocodiles, some of the big fishes, and of course the dugongs towards the end is truly a magical experience. If the uncle that sells ice-cream in the pineapple is still there, try it, it's very good! :)
A pretty good place to see some water animals but borrows a lot of ideas from the main zoo - not enough unique content. We thought it would be mostly a boat ride as though we were taking a safari through the river. No such luck. It is 80% walking. However the parts that are water are very scenic and enjoyable And then there's a whole panda exhibit and section. I don't even understand... Pandas don't live in the river! However it was a very nice exhibit so ok. Overall good place to go. Buy with parkhopper for extra value
The animals are healty. The display is great, informative and clear. There is kay2 and jia2 panda.

A must visit place for the nature lovers. If you do love nature & fishes but you do not want to be wet and hate muds, like I do, this is the perfect spot to fill up your passion. A very nice place to visit. Better to visit on weekdays to avoid the crowd.
It's definitely worth paying for two attractions (or more of you have the time) as the river safari us beautiful and a lot less crowded. My highlights the giant panda and the beautiful manatees. It's actually about 50 Singapore dollars for both zoo and river safari.
