Padang, Singapore

(3.1/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
The Padang is an open playing field located within the Downtown Core of the Central Area in Singapore. It was formerly known as the Padang Cricket Ground. The Padang is surrounded by several important landmarks, which include Saint Andrew's Cathedral, City Hall, the Old Supreme Court Building and the City Hall MRT Station.Due to its prime location and historical significance, it has been used as a venue for a variety of events, including the National Day Parades some years due to the first ever National Day Parade being held there in 1966, and just recently Singapore's Golden Jubilee Year in 2015. Since 1995, it has been planned that the NDP would be held there for every five years, the main venue for that major event is at Marina Bay Floating Stadium

  • It's just an open field in the middle of the city centre. There's not much things to be seen here unless there were some celebration or other programs held at the field.
  • Location changed position and saw Marina once walking along before the National Gallery, and take a picture. Very good but not disturb camera line of sight is the stadium. If you have games here with international and professional tourist attractions might, well...

  • Fantastic parks, with gorgeous buildings surrounding. We visited during F1 Grand Prix weekend, it was very busy but great atmosphere with music in the park, plenty of food stalls and the F1 cars speeding on the straight!
  • Stunning as a park, perfect place for a tourist picnic and of course all the events there are amazing! The F1 route goes around the park.
  • Taken during SG50. Nice and peaceful place
  • you get a great view of the National gallery and victoria concert hall from here. lots of rugby matches and events happening as well
  • Very convenient too as it is just a 5 minutes walk from the train station
