  • A modern museum and it's Interesting. A lot of multimedia exhibits. But I find the flow of some exhibits can be improved. My favorite is the Rotunda Dome. A few good restaurants here too. Overall very enjoyable and you could spend a whole day here. Note: Free admission for Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, children aged 6 and below and first caregivers of persons with disabilities to all galleries (permanent galleries and any on-going Special Exhibition).
  • The museum was near my school (SMU) so I basically walked past it almost everyday. The only time that I actually stopped to take a photo of it and went inside to see the exhibition was during the Night Festival. Love the architecture really much. If you're interested in Museums then put this one in your to-go-list
  • Pleasant to visit and has a very nice ambience. Good for people of all ages. Gives a very relaxed feeling. Exhibits have been recently changed also. Soft dome is worth visiting, despite only having 5 minutes
  • It was nice to know how the Singapore came about. From the beginning, and the hardship it has undergone, but because of its good leader intelligent leader at that Lee Kuan Yew, all obstacles against its success was eradicated. Imagine how to manage a multicultural country with different religions, how to make them work together for the success of the country. Nice Historical museum.
  • Great place for tourists and should be even more so for locals to understand our history better. Exhibits are refreshed on a regular basis and galleries of iconic generations are quite a hit.

Where to stay in Singapore

For leading chain hotels, head to the area around Orchard Road, considered the tourist center of Singapore due to its varied selection of rooms, good travel links, and tourist-focused businesses. At the eastern end of the road, you'll find more luxurious and expensive options, with hotels located in impressive colonial-era architecture. North and south of this main artery, backpacker hostels and budget hotels provide affordable rooms with basic facilities.
