National Library, Singapore, Singapore
(4.5/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
A tangible testament to the country's development, National Library, Singapore was founded as the country's first public library at the suggestion of the country's modern founder, Sir Stamford Raffles. A constant in the nation's history, the library saw the country gain independence in 1965. The library opened branches in the suburbs after that time, giving it a new national presence. The library relocated several times, until it found its home and flagship location in 2005. The building is a modern architectural feat, and spans two city blocks and 16 stories. It provides a wealth of information about the country's history in several different languages, and offers a variety of comfortable seating areas. • Awesome library to visit. Big, spacious with lots of tables to work at. There are also a huge catalog of books and ebooks to choose from. Airy, nice and quiet and big. Definitely worth visiting to work.
  • The best library I've ever been to. Scan and copy services available. The interior and ambience inside were so nice. Been to the LKC Reference Library and the collection is quite complete for me.
  • The biggest and best library in SG, one of my favourite places to go. The architecture and design of the building is beautiful. It's a great place to hangout, relax and browse through their wide selection of books. They have huge children's section at the basement level, reference libraries in the middle floors and a meeting space at the top floor with an amazing view. The building also has cafes (Han's cafe on the first level), free wifi, charging points, study areas etc.
  • Love the large collection of books and resources. Spacious space for everyone to do their reading and studying. Place is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful.
  • Platinum awarded library with full range of services required. Good reading experience as the blinding are adjusted automatically according to the time of the day for optimum reading. Famous among the locals for a good day of reading
