#3 of 14 in Nature in Singapore
Just a short trip from the city center lies the serenity of MacRitchie Reservoir, part of Singapore’s water system that captures rain water to help supply the island’s growing population. Trails surround the park, which has an upgraded visitor center featuring a café, restrooms, and information station. The best views are from the TreeTop Walk, a 250 m (820 ft) suspension bridge across the rainforest canopy, which can be accessed along the 7 km (4 mi) Venus Loop. Wear hiking shoes and bring water. • In the midst of the modern that is Singapore, has managed to combine architecture with nature and it is possible to find places as MacRitchie, where you can make a circuit that starts in the reservoir, through the forest crossing a bridge elevated 250 meters above the the forest surface and ends again on the banks of the reservoir. Travel monkeys, fish and reptiles are if they walk with sufficient care.

  • A perfect place for weekend getaway where you can relax amidst nature's beauty. A walk along the boardwalk around the reservoir not just offers sighting of monkeys, monitor lizards, turtles, fish and birds, it also acts as a perfect workout. There are benches to sit and relax at a lot of spots all through the boardwalk.
  • Amazing place for running, walking or just enjoying mother nature. There are several trails and circuits and the fact that you can walk all around the water reservoir is quite nice! Very humid though! Get enough water a day out sunblock!
  • It's a cool place to spend time with your family and friends. There are eateries in this park as well. It's a suitable place for walking lovers. Best time to come is in the evening or morning.
  • It's very long and tiring. Be prepared physically. It might be a good idea to bring along an umbrella in case it rains. On warm days, it's very stuffy so don't wear sweaters and coats.
  • For all nature and fit enthusiasts. We walked about 2 hours (10km) round the park and it is definitely mot just a walk in the park. Also in the middle of the park is the famous Macritchie Treetop Walk.

MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a good starting point for the 20km network of boardwalks and trails of varying difficulties and distances that take visitors through the forest around the reservoir. It is worth trekking to the Tree Top Walk, a 250m-long suspension bridge running between the two highest points in MacRitchie where visitors can enjoy thrilling views of the forest canopy. Visitors are advised to hike towards the bridge by 4.45pm from the Ranger Station as the gate closes at 5pm. Water sports enthusiasts can choose to rent canoes and kayaks instead.
