Just a short trip from the city center lies the serenity of MacRitchie Reservoir, part of Singapore’s water system that captures rain water to help supply the island’s growing population. Trails surround the park, which has an upgraded visitor center featuring a café, restrooms, and information station. The best views are from the TreeTop Walk, a 250 m (820 ft) suspension bridge across the rainforest canopy, which can be accessed along the 7 km (4 mi) Venus Loop. Wear hiking shoes and bring water. • This a beautiful rainforest walk. We spent 4 hours walking. There are different trails. We did all of them. There are short trails that are entirely on the boardwalk. The rest are on a cleared path...

  • Walked through all the trails. Overall enjoyable. It’s nice to be with nature and stop think about things for a while. I think it’d be much more enjoyable alone. Safe, map is clear, you won’t get...

  • Scenic and beautiful place. It’s a 11 km stretch across the reservoir. You will experience board walk near the water, walking through forest up and down. Some part of the walk is by the golf course. Overall a wonderful experience. You must try once.
  • One of Singapore’s most tranquil parks to be in. The reservoir is vase enough so even though it may seems crowded in a given day and time like the morning weekends, it doesn’t feel crowded. The trails are well lite, and the broad walk well paved. Weekends are filled with various schools running their canoeing 🛶 CCA activities. The water colour in the reservoir has a clear turquoise green glow. It is stocked with fish and there’s a section designated for fishing 🎣. The Mushroom Cafe is a stone’s throw away from the carpark. As for the residential monkey population, if you don’t bother them, they wouldn’t bother you, just be careful if you’re holding bags of food. Enjoy!😊
  • Put on your hiking shoes, spend at least 2-3 hours to unwind
  • Nature at its best with Human Intervention. The place is well maintained (hence human intervention) and one can see if full of nature. The MacRitchie Reservoir and the nearby hiking/trailing path is a bliss for adventure goers. This is your ideal spot for weekends. There are several concrete pathways that serve a good running track. The park is equipped with lush greenery, water body (obviously) and monkeys. 🙈 🙉 🙊 There are boardwalks all along the perimeter of the reservoir and through the forest for walk-amid-nature. There are few seatings in between for enjoying a moment of serendipity. The best sunset view is from the Paddle Lodge, keep your camera ready and see the Sun go down and while its doing that enjoy the beaming reflection on the stretch of water body for soothing view. The park is filled with families, group of friends, couple, individuals runners, etc so yes enjoy it in all elements. We spent few hours here, and are defined coming back to cover more of those boardwalks and see where it takes us.
  • Well maintained and beautiful area for hiking. Plenty of scenic views for taking photographs. We were fully drenched when it rained but it was an enjoyable experience.

MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a good starting point for the 20km network of boardwalks and trails of varying difficulties and distances that take visitors through the forest around the reservoir. MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a good starting point for the 20km network of boardwalks and trails of varying difficulties and distances that take visitors through the forest around the reservoir. It is worth trekking to the Tree Top Walk, a 250m-long suspension bridge running between the two highest points in MacRitchie where visitors can enjoy thrilling views of the forest canopy. Visitors are advised to hike towards the bridge by 4.45pm from the Ranger Station as the gate closes at 5pm. Water sports enthusiasts can choose to rent canoes and kayaks instead.
