  • If you want to get away from the city, this is the place. There is a 10 km trail that loops around the reservoir. This is a great running trail as it is in the shade most of the time. There's also side trails where there are wooden paths along the reservoir. The best time to come is during the weekdays as the weekend is pack here w joggers and hikers. There's also the tree top walk which closes on Monday. Also, keep your eyes on your bags as the monkeys love to take them to look for food. Avoid plastic bags or any fruits.
  • This is a really great walk. You can decide which trail you want to do in advance based on your fitness. We did the 11km walk to the tree top walk and back. It is mostly shaded but some sections are very open and sunny so wear sunnie, hat and suncream. Also put on aeroguard. Bring a bottle of water. There are 2 spots along the way where you can refill water as well as toilets. There is a bus stop nearby however a taxi from the city will be about $10 depending on traffic. It took us 3.5 hours to complete at an easy pace. It is mostly level walking and no steep inclines. You do encouter animals such as monkeys, insects, lizards and snakes but keep your eyes peeled. Don't bring food but eat beforehand. If you do bring snacks, hide them. Monkeys can steal and get aggressive. Also don't carry things in a plastic bag as monkeys will rip them from you thinking there is food in there. Wear comfortable shoes. Shorts and t-shirt are fine.
  • Beautiful place for a hike. Do the macritchie boardwalk, tree top trail, or Macritchie to Bukit Timah route!
  • If you get here after climbing the treetop and hate lots of sun, avoid coming around 10. I did, and it is quite hot on the trails (around 12/1) Since treetop close at 5, well you can do the math. Superb walking trails. Recommended with partner and friends. But if you are on the competitive side, well they forbid running on the wooden pathways.
  • This nature trail in the evergreen rainforest of Singapore is one of the best on the world. Perfectly furnished with gravel or risen walkway you are IN the rainforest and watch lizards, Monkeys, Chipmunks. Dreamful views over the lake, carefully signed out, well maintained. Beware of the occasional mosquito.
