Lower Seletar Reservoir is a reservoir located in the northeastern part of Singapore, to the east of Yishun New Town. The reservoir has a surface area of 3.6 km², and a capacity of 9.5 million m³. The mean depth of the reservoir is 2 m, with a maximum depth of 5.5 m. The shoreline length is 14.3 km.
Lower Seletar Reservoir was constructed under the Sungei Seletar/Bedok Water Scheme, completed in 1986. The scheme involved the damming of Sungei Seletar to form Lower Seletar Reservoir, the creation of Bedok Reservoir from a former sand quarry and the construction of Bedok Waterworks. Its unique feature was the construction of nine stormwater collection stations to tap the storm runoffs of the surrounding urbanised catchments. Eight of these collection stations are ponds at Yishun, Tampines, Bedok and Yan Kit.
In 2004, Public Utilities Board (PUB) allowed sailing at Lower Seletar Reservoir. This was done in collaboration with the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and the Seletar Country Club. This is the first time sailing was introduced in local reservoirs. Sports fishing is also carried out at designated areas of the Lower Seletar Reservoir.
Located on the northern shore of Lower Seletar Reservoir, the Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is largely flat with some undulating terrain that provides a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll or jog. You can find benches along the edge of the reservoir if you prefer to sit back and enjoy the beautiful view of the reservoir. The park, with an area of 3 ha, is equipped with a jetty, shelters, restrooms, and a 1.3 km jogging track. Popular outdoor activities at the park include jogging, birdwatching and fishing. Water sports activities provided by People's Association Water-Venture outlet (Closed on every Monday and Public Holidays) can be participated by all.

  • Great place to chill. Day or night. There's also water play area for kids to cool down in the weather. Adults sit by to watch while dipping their foot in the shallow waters for a cooling soak.
  • The place where I usually end my evening jog!! Good place to spend some alone time: you could just sit by the water and there’ll be no one there to judge you haha! Heard that it’s a nice place to view the sunrise but I never got out of bed early enough to catch it!
  • Great place to have a quiet moment and watch the sunrise!
  • My vaourite place to run. It has a very stunning sunrise view. The place is not crowded though there are physical activities in the morning. There are lots of fishing enthusiasts visiting this place. You can have group or family picnic here as there are tables available. Canoe and dragon boats also available. Park for children with water fun activities also there. A well loved place by Yishun residents.
