Little India, Singapore

(2.7/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Experience the vibrancy of Singapore's Indian culture at Little India, where you can immerse yourself in the smells and tastes of aromatic food at the district's range of ethnic restaurants. Try masala dosa--a crispy pancake filled with fragrant potato curry--or a spicy fish dish, washed down with a mango lassi. The neighborhood also has a reputation for bargain shopping, with goods available at a fraction of the price charged by upscale retailers. If you do decide to try out your bargaining skills, watch out for fake or low-quality merchandise sold at the markets. • Just like Chinatown, little India visit will immerse you in a very different world, Hinduism, Jainism, and Islam. In the Indian world, regardless of the religious field, the woman occupies a very small place... Ladies, you will feel sometimes looks supported, sometimes even a bit heavy. Visit all the various temples and maybe you'll have the chance to attend the cults on the statues of the deities. In most cases these cults cannot be filmed or photographed, a little and possibly making you discreet you can attend. These are rare moments of survivals of practices that go back thousands of years, for some of them, to 1000 BC... Rites of purification of the priests, altars, tunes and offerings, statues of the deities they same. Lose you then in markets, enter shops, look at the desks of the tailors of streets... And eat Indian! Attention made the difference in Indian cuisine between the dishes spicy scented, and Jalapeno. The dishes "vindaloo" are usually too spicy for our European tastes. The Hindus eat usually vegetarian, the jainistes, vegetarians, and Muslims eat goats and sheep, but little beef, cow is always revealed... Don't miss: visit one or two Indian jewellery, display of guaranteed gold! There the Chinese world, the Malay world, the world of business and Little India in Singapore...
