  • Very nice atmosphere but never fancy restaurants, furniture stores, cafes, etc., gathered to start a Cafe famous P.S. best Jones the grocer, etc. Without a car is hard enough visits to quite a flop, despite an overabundance of people feel that there's a reason to be there.

  • A colonial feel that attracted us back to the place. Lots of cafes and restaurants options; and a great place to hang out without the hustle of finding parking. Centrally located which is fantastic fo...  more »
  • The nose full of Samuel mega shopping malls who, should the Dempsey road pay a visit. Seems past numerous buildings in colonial style with fancy restaurants, two microbreweries and boutiques all with lots of green one as a walk through the Park, trappings. We have been in the evening there in the run-up to Christmas very beautifully decorated with fairy lights and arrangements.

  • Loads of eating options, all pretty high end. This place is one of the best options if you want to celebrate special occasions in classy cafes and restaurants. There are some run of the mill restaurants like jumbo seafood also here, but most of the places are kinda one-off type of setups. As the name suggests it is in the middle of a green/ forest type area, which makes it accessible mainly through cars or cabs. This adds to the exclusivity of the place as well of course so not necessarily a negative. Be sure to make reservations wherever you decide to eat.
  • It is considered by many as one of those nice-but-kinda-out-of-reach restaurants, but don't let that mislead or deter you. Dempsey Hill is actually quite accessible, just beside the bus stop is a short path leading up to its first cluster of specialty shops. Walking further and around while deciding which cafe or restaurant you want to lounge in can be a nice afternoon/evening walk by itself. Many choices of cozy, romantic or casual restaurants here, so far those few I have tried are not disappointing, prices varying from $$$ to $$$$. And the atmosphere here can make you forget for a while that you're in busy industrious Singapore.
  • Sophisticated and decent place with many famous fine din8ng restaurants and cafes serves delicious food. Calm and serene atmosphere.
  • Dined at DOME alfresco style and had a nice experience! There are many restaurants to try and you can people watch on the weekends. There are also some small shops, but quite ex!
  • Very nice place plenty of really good restaurant, especially the Mexican ones. I advise you to go there for diner as the atmosphere is really cosy

Where to stay in Singapore

For leading chain hotels, head to the area around Orchard Road, considered the tourist center of Singapore due to its varied selection of rooms, good travel links, and tourist-focused businesses. At the eastern end of the road, you'll find more luxurious and expensive options, with hotels located in impressive colonial-era architecture. North and south of this main artery, backpacker hostels and budget hotels provide affordable rooms with basic facilities.
