Historic Site
Combine modern entertainment with spiritual history at Chijmes, a multi-purpose hall that was once a Catholic convent. The original convent, called Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, was built in 1840, with an additional chapel constructed in 1904; it operated for over 100 years. Located on Victoria Street in the city's main business district, this Gothic-style complex has since been named a national monument and been converted into a commercial destination. View the architecture, browse the shops, enjoy fine dining, or come for a special event. • This is just a gimmicky food arcade in Singapore. It used to be a church, once, then converted to a shopping arcade with numerous food options. Other than some photo-ops - it's nothing special.  more »

  • I went during the early afternoon. They are a numerous amounts of restaurants in the area. There were numerous family's in the grass areas. The church was beautiful. Closed for an event. It's hard to believe it was once a complex that began life as a Catholic convent known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus.
  • The restaurants are located all around the old Church. Amazing place with many type of food for any kind of visitors. Very often is crowded thus booking is highly recommend.
  • Beautiful place. Had better visit Chijmes around dinner time. Atmosphere is much more better when it gets dark.
  • Lovely and lively night spot with many restaurants and bars. Set in an old school cathedral, the Courtyards and lawns make for a very pretty picture. A nice place to be!
