Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa, Singapore

4.2
After visiting several cat cafes in Japan, Sam and Sue wanted to bring the same experience to Singapore. They are firm proponents of cat therapy and the indescribable joy and relaxation that it comes with.

While cat cafes in Japan, Korea and Bangkok usually feature only pedigreed cats, Sam and Sue made a decision to only adopt cats for their cafe. This is their message - Adopt, don't buy!

All cats deserved to be loved, what more the homeless and abandoned ones? They want to show that non-pedigreed cats can be beautiful and affectionate companions.

With more than 16 years of cat care experience behind them, Sam and Sue want to share the joy and knowledge of cat ownership which seem to be lacking in Singapore. Myths like 'cats are dirty, noisy and aloof' can't be further from the truth. The only way to dispel such myths is to create an opportunity for people to spend time with cats and experience for themselves what lovely, responsive and intelligent companions cats can be.

With Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa (Japanese for ‘Cat Garden’), Sam and Sue take their first step towards changing mindsets.

  • Found this place by accident but had to check it out. The couple who runs this lovely place welcome you to their cat colony with open arms but strict rules to protect their 11cats. We enjoyed a delici...  more »
  • Cat cafe in the boat key. There were eleven cats, but when I visited there in the daytime, I slept very little. It was good calm down to see the sleeping cat. It seems to become active when closing approaches. One hour S $12 entry fee, one drink order is required separately.

  • We visited here in 2018 and decided to go back again as it is such a great place. It is run so well by Sam and Sue and it's obvious the cat's welfare is the most important thing here. The cats are car...  more »

  • Super soft sweet cats. The owners maintain the cafe well, it's clean and organized. Cappuccino and cats, what more could you need. Its a comfortable place to chill, quiet and relaxing. Ill be back tomorrow to see my cat lady squad and a drink.
  • The owners have successfully created a peaceful and chill ambience at the Cafe. During my short visit (1.5hr) there, I ordered a Hot Chocolate which was decent. Managed to pet quite a few cats after they woke up and it was quite a pleasant experience. The owners also tend to make small chat about the background of different cats as well as how to treat them well. Might want to put something over your laptop's keyboard just in case the cats dash across it. Which happened to me twice! Will come again probably for a whole day to study and relax. Left this place feeling happier.
  • Such a beautiful location for a cat cafe. The cats are so friendly and fun loving. great hospitality and service. Definitely worth a visit in Singapore if u love cats.
  • Very clean and nice environment. Crepe cake was delicious. However their charges go by per hour on top of food and drinks. The cats are usually asleep in the afternoon. There are also house rules to follow. Staff will monitor your actions but also very professional in guiding you on some tips with cats
  • Very chill place as long as there aren't noisy people..you can get drinks and cakes/tarts here. Cats are well taken care of, but customers have to understand that it is not a petting zoo and don't disturb the cats when they're sleeping, eating etc. I like the selection of souvenirs and cat-related merchandise. Staff are friendly and you can ask how to book for private event also
