Serving the residents of Bishan and Ang Mo Kio, the park sits entirely within Bishan, running along the Ang Mo Kio–Bishan boundary line, which is situated at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. In the middle of the park lies the Kallang River, which channels through it in the form of a flat riverbed.Visitor informationThe park was constructed in 1988, and is one of the biggest and most popular parks in Singapore.Amenities in the park include Aramsa Spa, a children's playground, a frequently-used dog run, a garden spa, cycling and running tracks, an inline skates rental outlet as well as a couple of food and beverage outlets. Many types of plants can be found in the park including the Chinese fan palm and Phoenix palm. A flower garden called Frangipani Garden and a vegetable garden called Green Vibes Garden accompany the scenic lakes and shaded lawns to offer some of the best relaxation spots for picnics and family gatherings.Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced the official opening of the ABC Waters@Kallang River-Bishan Park Project on 3 October 2009. The project, initiated by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) and the National Parks Board (NParks), will see the transformation of the existing canal into a natural meandering river upon completion. Slated to be completed in 2011, it will also include the construction of additional facilities such as a River Promenade and three new playgrounds.HistoryBishan Park was constructed to provide a buffer between Ang Mo Kio New Town and Bishan New Town. It was also envisioned as a leisure destination for residents ranging from children to nature-lovers, containing facilities such as a football field, a floating amphiteatre and a natural pond. Construction took place in two stages. The park, costing SGD$8.5 million to build, is one of the biggest park projects by the Housing Development Board at the time of its construction.

  • Amazing area to catch a breath of fresh air. With occasional fast food restaurants and rest rooms, this garden is top-notch! With playgrounds for your child to play in and different events each time of the year, this place is great for family-fun! There are different species of animals inhabiting this area, so they even have activities planned for you to get close with these animals. A usual place for cycling, roller skating, scooter riding, jogging, skateboarding and many more! Totally recommended for tourists who would love a breath of fresh air, and love social places like this.
  • Beautiful landscape. The former canal that's been turned into a river offers a diverse range of plants and views. Fish and other animals can be commonly spotted thriving among the plants.
  • Amazing park in Singapore. The picturesque views of the surrounding public housing estates are straight out of a PAP (the ruling political party) brochure. Great features like exercise areas, dry and wet playgrounds for kids, ponds and a stunning artificial river full of fish, views of the Bright Hill Temple, stunning plants including the enigmatic Cannonball tree and plants specifically designed to attract and be a sanctuary for various butterflies as well as birds who are migratory and from the nearby nature reserves. You might even spot some cute otters if you're lucky! The hold regular concerts and community events here, and even have trendy restaurants and spas and bars in certain areas. Overall 5 star park and impeccable use of Singapore's tiny space. If you live nearby then this park is already home to you. If you're a foreigner looking to "go off the beaten path" out of Singapore's main tourist circuit and see the real side of Singapore's heartlands, then head here, which is walking distance from the entrance of the winding nature trail through the tropical rainforests, whose hike leads right into the heart of Singapore's central nature reserve and the treetop walk.
  • Quiet and pretty park to relax. A few cafes around and even a spa. If you love dogs, hang out at the dog park in the evenings, a huge turn out.
  • Nice path for walking and cyclying. Can see interesting birds like the purple heron and the white breast water hen. Beautiful flowers too !
