Zemunski kej, Zemun
(4.7/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Stroll along Zemunski kej, a picturesque wooded path by the Danube River featuring charming cafes on barges, recreational spaces, and ethnic restaurants. Stretching for some 2.5 km (1.6 mi), the area connects New Belgrade with Zemun's most famous location--Gardoš hill. Most of the boats that come to this part of the city stop here. Experience this urban oasis and breathe the fresh air just outside of the city bustle. You can also grab a sweet or savory pancake, sold at numerous street stands, and rest on a bench while watching the swans on the river. Drop by the large Hotel Jugoslavija, still recovering from the 1999 NATO bombing; at night, its surroundings become a mecca for clubbers. Use our Belgrade travel itinerary planner to arrange your visit to Zemunski kej and other attractions in Belgrade.

  • Beautiful promenade on the banks of the Danube, between clubs and cafes very funny. We stumbled upon sunset of a beautiful sunny day. The fall colors, the peaceful flow of water of the River, the sky reddish, infondevano peace and tranquility. Zemun is located away from tourist routes, but it is worth it. The place has an old history, because here was the border between the Ottoman Empire of which Belgrade was part and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where it was incorporated into Zemun. After the fall of the Ottoman Empire Zemun grew economically as autonomous city, a real independent statelet before being merged in Belgrade and become a suburb.

  • Great long and relaxing walk, lots of trees, sea birds, only thing I would wish is that people would throw less trash in nature.
  • Pravo mesto da se opustite od gradske gužve. Bogata ponuda kafića, splavova i restorana. Predivno je i zimi a pogotovo leti kada su na raspolaganju i ležaljke po kafićima. Raj za oči i uši.
