(3.8/5 based on 40+ reviews on the web)
Silver Lake or Srebrno jezero is an oxbow lake along the right Danube bank in the Braničevo region in eastern Serbia, near the town of Veliko Gradište. It is a popular tourist resort.GeographyThe lake itself is in the broad, low valley of the Danube, but the neighboring hills rise up from 282 meters on the north (Gorica hill) to 362 meters on the south (Lipovača hill), while the entire western part of the valley is enclosed by the elongated hill of Veliko brdo and its highest peak of Anatema (324 m). The mouth of the river Pek into the Danube, known by its inverse flow during the high water levels, is just south of the lake. Historical sites of the medieval city-fortresses of Ram and Golubac also in the vicinity of the lake, so as the springs of "Hajdučka voda" (Hajduk's water).Silver Lake is an arm of the Danube on its right bank. With the main river bed of the Danube it engulfes the marshy ada (river island) of Ostrovo. On both points which connect the lake to the Danube it was dammed and bridged in 1971 by the Veliko Gradište-Zatonje road which also crosses the island. Other settlements on the lake are Biskuplje and Kisiljevo.

  • We went there for 1 day, did not stay for the night. It is connected to Danube river and is nice place for a holiday, walking and swimming during the summer. There re also many restaurants offering fi...  more »
  • Silver Lake is walled-off piece of the Danube, which is a favorite spot on the water (sea in Serbia not) for the local population. From Belgrade must go by bus (Terminal is located next to the central station), two hours before the town of Veliko Gradiste, and then from the local bus terminal or an hour on foot or 10 minutes by taxi. The lake itself I think about 15 kilometers long and several hundred meters in width (I have it crossed). What's not good is that on the shore, and on the bottom of the sharp stones, and what is very good is that motor boats banned here, so you can swim without fear of being caught in the propeller. On the beach, a lot of places where you can eat delicious and inexpensive, there are changing rooms and toilet facilities (surcharge). There are very deep (a few steps along the bottom depth is more than two meters. Umbrellas do not exist as a class in General, a good alternative to the law of the sea.

  • Silver Lake is considered one of the most beautiful in Serbia. Located on the right bank of the Danube. It was one of the sleeves of the Danube, then blocked the two dams. Received its name due to the silvery glint on the surface of the water. The Lake is abundant in fish, is a paradise for anglers. We were not here during the season, in may, so the people were a bit. Think summer is here all beaches filled. On the banks of the many hotels and restaurants.

  • Odlicno mesto I lepo jezero.
  • I love this place... I spent a lot of nice moment there with my familly
  • Boring place
  • Nice lake and countryside.
