Mecavnik, Mokra Gora

4.1
#7 of 95 in Things to do in Central Serbia
Sitting atop a picturesque hill, Mecavnik represents a settlement from the imagination of the film director Emir Kusturica, featuring wooden houses and museums in a rustic setting. Inspired by his own movie "Life is a Miracle," Kusturica created a place loyal to tradition and rebelling against routine, lost between reality and fairy tales. Here you'll see centuries-old log cabins that were transported in pieces and rebuilt at the site, as well as a car that was eaten by pigs in one of his movies. Walk along paved wooden cubes, encounter surreal sculptures, and visit galleries of art and poetry. The site also has a church, accommodations, and numerous recreational and entertainment facilities, including a swimming pool, fitness club, and disco. Our Mokra Gora holiday planner makes visiting Mecavnik and other Mokra Gora attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

There are such potrjasajushhte types and gave that takes your breath away. Folk architecture, hand-painted Interior, stairs and bridge from old railway sleepers, so mentally, close, and really recalls the House of those who he was ... And at all-a bit ironic, unique view of the great filmmaker. That the property "Mecavnik" and the restaurant "Visconti"-impression is not one-to-one. Simple food cooked, but served nicely and prices are cheap. I think. better dwell still in Mokra Gora, and the Mechavnike just walk.

Honestly, not impressed. Yes, nice houses, nice views, but all too artificial and not at all like the authentic village) we had hours to explore everything good that came early in the morning, until there were no people. Admission is 250 dinar.

This is a village our most famous movie director, Emir Kusturica, made. A small village filled with houses in old ethno Serbian style. Some of them are habitable so you can stay there. There are restaurants and a pool. Also every year movie festival is held here as well as other movie themed manifestations. Definitely a place to visit.

I visited Kamengrad last summer and it was really,I mean REALLY hot so that did not let me have a truly good time there, but the place is beautiful, has a retro village vibe and serves good domestic coffee.Nature here is amazing. The prices of drinks are not high but you have to pay around 250RSD to enter. That is approximately 2 euros per person.
