Salam Park, Riyadh

4.1
#4 of 6 in Parks in Riyadh
For a breath of fresh air, visit Salam Park, a large green space surrounding a huge man-made lake. Stroll, cycle, or skate along pathways, or sit and enjoy a picnic under the shade of large palm trees. Children can enjoy a ride in mini-boats on the lake and admire the large fountain. The park can be exceptionally busy on Fridays, so finding a picnic spot could prove difficult. • Vast area with artificial lake. You can take a ride in Family boat. Small boat rides for kids also available. Lot of trees and one can sit under them on grass laid grounds. Kids play area is available all over the park. Outlets are available in plenty every where if one wants to buy some snacks juices. Entry fees is 5SR per adult. Worth the price to visit.
  • This is a very good place and I wasn't wrong to take my family for our first night ni Riyadh. My daughter enjoyed the park so much. They have this little hills where she went up and down, they have a man made river too. She wanted to play with the water. There was a water fountain. And water activities.
  • Nice Park. Well organised and maintained. Very good option for family outing, especially for kids. Have boating, Water games, Swimming area and playing equipments. Very small entry fees. All the food item stalls available.
  • Green... clean... a large variety of rides for kids... an artificial lake... but remember to take small change in cash... not a single booth has a debit / credit card machine... and there isn't much to offer when it comes to eating options....
  • Very nice park; a first of its kind in Riyadh. Unfortunately, it has an entry fee of SR 5 per person. It is minimal, though, and may help to weed out the seedy crowd and maintain upkeep of the park.

Where to stay in Riyadh

The hotels of Olaya Street and King Fahd Road are pretty hard to miss, whether you're looking for accommodations or not. You can find some simpler, standard hotels in this central area, but the emphasis really lies on luxury and showmanship here. Though known for the luxuriousness of its accommodations, Riyadh contains some options fit to please those looking for something a little more modest and budget-friendly. Take a peek at the Al-Batha district for the majority of hostels and guesthouses, located either on the main thoroughfare of the same name, or on side streets just off it.
