Globe Roundabout, Jeddah

3.3
#7 of 15 in Sightseeing in Jeddah
Landmark Tourist Spot
A colossal glass-and-steel monument, Globe Roundabout looms over its surrounding traffic circle. Designed by Spanish architect Julio Lafente, the work makes up one of many monument squares and roundabouts scattered across the city, many of which feature work by the same artist. The giant globe lights up at night, glowing turquoise against the evening sky. Make Globe Roundabout a centerpiece of your Jeddah vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Jeddah vacation planner.

Where to stay in Jeddah

A major pilgrimage and commercial site with large numbers of visitors year-round, Jeddah offers a wide range of accommodations, ranging from low-budget to super deluxe. Hotels spread primarily along the north part of the town port, with another large cluster found in Mecca. Beachfront establishments can be found predominantly in Atallah Happy Land Park in the north, and in Al Hamra’a next to the port, while budget hotels are scattered around Al Faisaliyah. You can find most major international chain hotels throughout the city. Outside Hajj season, accommodation in Jeddah is generally cheaper than that in Riyadh.

  • I remember this from my childhood. At that time it seems to be a very far away place.
  • I used to come to this place when I was younger with my parents and relatives,, having barbecue or just fooling around. There were not such many buildings like nowadays. I still come to this emotional place with my own family.
  • This sculpture has an emotional value to people who've been living or visiting Jeddah for a long time. It's usually beautiful when cleaned, but lately it was ruined with all the national flags around it.
  • I loved the Globe, got very nice pictures :)
  • I went to this place at several times..very historic place..
