Explore the Neoclassical architecture of Basilica del Santo Marino, the main church within the city. Although this structure was built during the 1800s, the first church that occupied this spot was constructed during the 4th century. Enter the basilica to see the three large naves, green Neoclassical interior, numerous paintings, statues, and altars. Head back outside to see the Chiesa di San Pietro next to the front steps. This small building was built in 600 and reputedly houses the beds of San Marino and San Leo. Inside, look for a statue dedicated to St. Peter and a monument to Pope John XXII. • To me being vicentina reminiscent of the Palladian villas. The Interior is surprising as Candide, a marvel. A visit to San Marino should also include this basilica.

  • I revalued, compared to previous visits, the Interior. The purity of the white Slims stately colonnades, even the ceiling deserves attention. Remains out of place the exterior: incompatible with the square and the old town of San Marino.

  • From the outside you don't realise how beautiful this Basilica is on the inside. Some wonderful paintings and statues, as well as architecture will have you clicking your camera constantly.
  • I spent 2 full days exploring San Marino time ago. This ancient church is historic and wonderful. Everybody who visits San Marino should make a stop to explore with calm this beautiful church.
  • Beautiful place both inside and outside.
  • I saw it just from the outside, but looks nice. I really love the historic buildings. Hope I will ever saw it from the inside.
  • I like this church. The line to enter was short and so were the skirts of the women inside.
  • Basilica was built in the classic style
