To Sua Ocean Trench, Lalomanu
(4.7/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Marvel at the splendor of To Sua Ocean Trench, a massive swimming hole filled with blue water and surrounded by lush vegetation. The swimming hole is set deep in the ground, so a ladder is required to enter and exit. The water fills the hole via an ancient lava tube connected to the ocean, which creates a current. Weak swimmers can take hold of a rope across the center of the hole. Bring something to cover up with when you're not swimming, as conservative dress is requested out of the water. A few picnic tables are available, so consider packing some refreshments. To Sua Ocean Trench is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Upolu Edition.

  • At the ends of the Earth, on the other side of the globe and where only the lucky ones arrive is this spectacular place that is nothing more than a huge hole in the ground which enter the sea water. To Sua literally means "Great hole" and is located on the island of Upolu in Samoa, in the heart of Polynesia, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and to the East of Australia. This earthly paradise is an oceanic Grotto with up to 30 meters of crystal-clear water marina (at high tide) inside which is accessed through a small wooden staircase. Their beauty lies, besides in the transparency of its waters, which is completely surrounded by the lush vegetation of bright green. The town nearest To Sua is Lotofaga, South of the island, where some of the most popular beaches of Upolu is also
