Papaseea Sliding Rock, Apia

(400+ reviews on the web)
Waterfall Nature / Park
Experience the thrill of a natural water slide at Papaseea Sliding Rock, where centuries of erosion have worn down the rock to create a smooth chute. In addition to the tallest slide, three smaller slides are located at the base of the waterfall, and all slides empty into a refreshing swimming hole. Watch out for the strong current, wear shorts on the slides, and expect some bumps and scratches. Toilets and changing rooms are available on site. If you visit during the dry season, make sure to check the depth of the pool before jumping in. • We had an amazing time at the sliding rocks but were a bit scared at first. The biggest is scary at the top but after you do it once you want to do it again.  more »
  • Better in high tide. Was great here except for all those stairs. Was worth the exercise but its was stunning literally just me and my gf for 3 hours. During the weekdays is more quiet so was great for...  more »
  • What a great way to spend the day...there are places to eat and the sliding rocks vary in sizes, so great for kids and adults...although you should still know how to swim.  more »

  • When we visited it was warm and raining, which was perfect! The river was in full flow ... I cant beleive you can safely slide down some rocks, in a river. Its a rush!
  • We went on a sunny day and there was little water. You may want to go after it's been raining for more water and deeper pools to slide into. Take a good pair of shoes as of walking on rocks it's very slippery and hot! 5 Tala to get in. No bus, just take a cab from Apia.
  • This place is a rush! Its hard to believe that you can just slide down the rocks, but when I finally went for it, I couldn't stop. The ride itself is fairly smooth and loads of fun. Its also in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in Samoa.
  • Papaseea is the greatest place to go too. :-)
  • This is the ideal place for a hot day. You will find all the teenagers and kids sliding down the natural waterslides (hence the name). Inside the valley it is nice and cool. Be ready for a fairly long hike from the carpark (maybe 20-30 minutes to get to the falls). Don't miss it though if you are in Samoa. We would go at least once a month while I was living there.
