Papaseea Sliding Rock, Apia

3.5
#2 of 8 in Parks in Apia
Experience the thrill of a natural water slide at Papaseea Sliding Rock, where centuries of erosion have worn down the rock to create a smooth chute. In addition to the tallest slide, three smaller slides are located at the base of the waterfall, and all slides empty into a refreshing swimming hole. Watch out for the strong current, wear shorts on the slides, and expect some bumps and scratches. Toilets and changing rooms are available on site. If you visit during the dry season, make sure to check the depth of the pool before jumping in. • We were here with our 7-year-old twins and our 22-month-old daughter. The boys had a lot of fun and enjoyed the slide. We adults had at least as much fun! Admission is cheap and worth every penny.

  • Wasn't enough water in the pools to risk the slide but could safely clamber over the rocks and swim in the pools. The stairs are easy down but a bit more of a leg work out climbing up. Friendly local lads at the pools made this a good outing
  • I suspect this place would be amazing after a good rainy period, the day we went there hadn't been a lot of heavy rain in the prior days so there wasn't a large volume of water going over the rocks, so not much sliding going on.
  • Very refreshing on a hot day, beautiful spot. The only negative is people leaving their rubbish behind.
  • Careful sliding down the rocks! The water isn't deep if it hasn't rained recently. Great place to cool off on a hot day though.
  • We have had multiple days of heavy rain Dec 28th 2018 and are action seekers. No way would we slide down rocks. Told the lady, too dangerous as a courtesy but she immediately started shouting at me!!! Very rude as already stated in previous reviews. Don't go. I'd give 0 stars if possible. First rude Samoan encounter 😳💩
