  • Despite the frozen Bay, the whole area looks very grandly. ... White sparkling space, silence and pure air.

  • It is impossible not to visit, not necessarily to swim, you can just walk around and look at the vast expanse! Happy residents of Zelenogorsk, can dream of looking into the distance!

  • Terijoen identity will be the sandy beach. In some places, broken glass and rubbish. We are working very hard, whether in the ocean for a swim, or whether it's so polluted. Only a couple of people was seen to be fair in the water, even though it was Sunday and the water warm. Impressive in any case. The Russians (residents?) grillailivat along the beach.

Where to stay in St. Petersburg

For luxury hotels with a price tag to match, you can't beat the city's historical heart--Palace Square--and Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue that connects the square to the Neva River. The area around St. Isaac's Cathedral, at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, also offers a great selection of luxury and mid-range options. If you want to see the other side of the city, consider staying on Vasilyevsky Island, at the mouth of the river. Increased competition means that St. Petersburg now offers a wide range of inexpensive but funky hostels scattered throughout the city.
