Valentina Tereshkova Planetarium, Yaroslavl

(4.2/5 based on 190 reviews on the web)
Learn more about astronomy and the history of Russian space travel at Valentina Tereshkova Planetarium, dedicated to Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. Built on the grounds of a former monastery, the planetarium is known for its unusual architecture, featuring a white concrete and glass exterior and an inner dome illuminated by thousands of LED lights in a range of colors, making the building look like a sphere floating in space at night. Climb the observatory tower, which resembles the bell tower of an old Russian cathedral, and attend one of the shows that explain the stars in the sky and the changes that occur each season. One show deals with astronomy in Russian folklore; check the schedule online prior to your visit. The museum models and exhibitions have partial English captions, but tend to be interactive and easily understood despite the limited English information. You can get a meal at the cafe inside the planetarium. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Valentina Tereshkova Planetarium by using our Yaroslavl travel itinerary planner.

  • Very anxious to get here, but it did not work. In the end, managed to squeeze in time and went to a movie about black holes. About the film: 250 rubles per ticket for the 30 minute film was spent in vain. Very expensive and not so interesting. The movie quality and especially the Narrator leaves much to be desired. A man on a nearby row of sweet snoring after the 2nd minute "fascinating story"))) were surprised that the Planetarium staff do not hide their (admittedly after ticket sale), movie skukatishha. Maybe it is time to think!))) Other impressions: all exhibitions paid and, as for me, dear. If it's with the kids go you can go broke. Unfortunately, not every family can afford such a trip. And very sorry! The scale on the second floor with very great accuracy! For such money could repair or configure. In addition to this surprising absence of any advertising on the city. I hope that prices and "repertoire" would reconsider. I hope to visit the Planetarium with great pleasure and enthusiasm)

  • Went on "a journey through the solar system". Well, very informative. Particularly interesting about distant planets.

  • As the Planetarium is normal. And here is the building itself is interesting: beautiful glass dome from which you can examine the surrounding area. Very interesting cafes in which order you do through interactive panels, and the waiters only bring food. Oh and a huge screen in the Hall where the pokashhyvajut café or tour of the city or space travel very much. Interesting Museum in which many layouts spacecraft and you can make a photo as if you're in a spacesuit. With children to go is a must. Only better with children 5 years of age-6.
