Mamayev Hill Monuments, Volgograd

The place where the Soviet army defeated Nazi Germany on the Eastern Front is marked by a number of memorial structures known as Mamayev Hill Monuments. This collection of monuments was constructed between 1959 and 1967 to honor the military men who fought and defeated Hitler's army in the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II. In addition to touring the site and viewing these memorial pieces, be sure to take in views of the city from the foot of the Motherland statue, an allegorical work by Yevgeny Vuchetich. The historical outdoor exhibitions and underground eternal flame are well worth a trip up the hill. • Who hasn't been on Mamayev Kurgan, the one not seen Volgograd! Great country, great city, great people! And what wonderful views open up from the height.

  • Go here very often. For the first time in the winter. But as even the plane well reviewed. The stadium was added to the WORLD CUP 2018. Stadium, IMHO, the most beautiful of the saw. To the most complex: this is the most grandiose memorial complex construction. A place that is obliged to visit every Russian. Necessarily with the excursions. Be sure to be here. Monumental. Awesomely. Mentally, before locking the heart.

  • Was in Volgograd on a business trip in the year 2015. His grandfather fought in the battle of Stalingraldskoj, so the issue of attending or not Mamayev Kurgan was not. Unfortunately, time was limited. Asked at Southern individual excursion. And not regret afterwards. Guide Larisa professional of the highest class. The tour started from the bottom, gradually climbing up the stairs. She talked about the defense of Stalingrad, Chujkove, Vasyl Zajceve. Goulet Queen and other defenders, about how the sculpture was created and many other interesting facts. The story was accompanied by photographs. Visit this place has made a lasting impression. Be sure to visit if you want to really feel that feel our soldiers during the war. If possible, take the kids. They should know their history.
