Arranged in a network around the city, Vladivostok Fortress served as the primary defenses for one of the most important historical positions in the Russian Far East. Wander the extensive fortifications, passing by the multitude of gun emplacements and artillery platforms that would have been used to defend the surrounding strategic waterways. Though constructed beginning in the 19th century, the hulking concrete bastions didn't see combat until the start of the Russo-Japanese War in 1904. Also littered around the area are numerous armored combat vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, and other examples of weaponry. You can drop by the small museum housed in the fortress, displaying a collection of Soviet artifacts and ammunition along with displays about the facility itself presented in English. Keep in mind that most of the sights here are outdoors, so dress accordingly. For Vladivostok Fortress and beyond, use our Vladivostok route website to get the most from your Vladivostok vacation.

  • Not have a lot of great sights in Vladivostok's cajabodaga heard there. Marine Park, and it's been almost a guide in Russian Vladivostok creatives may be hard to understand.

  • Staff is nice. Good place to visit
  • Great views out to sea. Fascinating history to the place.
  • This is a part of the World War history, if you like to know about how Russians fight for their people. It's worth to spend your times for an hours.
  • Limited access in military city Vladivostok until about 10 years ago. Fortress ruins are exhibited intact here. Fortress in the numerous anti-aircraft guns, anti-ship missiles, armored vehicles. Shakes his head left and right up and down for running many anti-aircraft guns. During the building's record of the Russo-Japanese war (Japan stuff. Japan language course), and there was a display on forts of Poland.

  • Put five stars is the place in which everyone should visit this wonderful city and grab their children they should especially enjoy. It offers a wonderful view of the sea, the Bay, on the peninsula of 12:00 a day, THUMP Cannon, notifying residents that already noon. Entrance fee. in my view, somewhat expensive, especially if you go big family. But the emotions seen justifies all

Where to stay in Vladivostok

One of the most popular destinations of the Russian Far East, Vladivostok offers its visitors plenty of options for a place to stay. You'll find many centrally located hotels, as well as those in residential areas; and because of the city's bay location, sea-view rooms are not an uncommon feature. Several high-end hotels cater to well-heeled travelers, while those with more modest budgets will also find plenty of options, including smaller hotels, bed and breakfasts, and hostels. If you prefer self-catering accommodation, look for apartments in some of the most popular locations around the city.
