  • A fairly typical Church, well restored outside. Style whether 19 century or slightly earlier. Inside the relics of Alexander Nevsky's mother, like. Interior view failed, was the service. Is on good pedestrian street, organized and equipped for tourists.

  • Amazing Temple is mentioned in Chronicles for the year 1129! In ancient times when George Church there was a monastery whose Foundation dates back to the year 1153. He is mentioned in the annals in the 16th and 17th centuries. Initially it was founded as a convent, and then acted as a male monastery. In 1778, the year after widespread secularization of Church lands and the closure of many monasteries, Imperial Decrees, which has already become a parish St. George Temple-Monastery burned. After receiving permission to resume the Church in the year 1783, masonry from the same ancient white stone was completed in 1784, and in the year 1796 the Church was consecrated and remains unchanged to date. In the temple buried a mother and brother of Alexander Nevsky. BTW, the temple is located on a pedestrian street, so George's past didn't exactly pass!
