Friendship Monument (Monument Druzhby), Ufa
(4.1/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Built 400 years after Bashkiria's voluntary accession to Russia, the spire-shaped Friendship Monument (Monument Druzhby) represents the fraternal friendship of the two peoples. It dates to 1967 and sits on a hill that previously held the town's fortress and cathedral. This 35 m (115 ft) tall monument consists of mostly pink and gray granite. Several bas-reliefs at its base represent cooperation between the two nations in the fields of industry, science, and culture. Observe the female figures below it, which were modeled by two actual women from Russia and Bashkiria. This site received an upgrade in 2006, on the 450th anniversary of the accession. • Not how much the monument attracts tourists. A beautiful hill above the River in the old historic center of the city.

  • Expect more. Unfortunately, neither stand nor memo near the monument did not find, I had to search on the Internet, that means this object. Get tough, uphill is very serious. Of course, the kind of brightens up the whole negative.

  • As already pointed out by many, very nice view from the monument of friendship, especially when it gets dark and the lights of the night city. I think the monument itself has not lost relevance. Because people have to remember its past. And immortalised the story in the stele and this is one way to transfer the knowledge and history of the past.
