Tula Museum of Samovars, Tula

(3.3/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Learn about the history of tea service as a key Russian social ritual at Tula Museum of Samovars. The museum features a variety of samovars, such as models with a removable jug, coffee pots, and portable designs. See the samovar's predecessor--the 18th century "sbitennik," which was a pot used to prepare a sweet drink with herbs and honey. Other interesting exhibits include the five small samovars that belonged to the children of Emperor Nikolas II Romanov, and the samovar presented to Stalin in 1949 for his 70th birthday. If you're ready to bring the tea tradition home, the museum shop sells high-quality, custom-made samovars. • Not a bad Museum for knowledge of the history of manufacturing of samovars in Russia! You can find out what they are in shape and volume, by appointment ... Presented interesting exhibits. For example-the Samovar. The Museum is not big, you can work around it quite quickly. Located in Tula Kremlin and convenient to visit. There are guided tours. I advise to visit in order to gain a better understanding of the Thule and its traditions. Long time didn't take, but pleasant impressions and new knowledge with you will remain ... The premises of the Museum pretty shabby, but now it is being renovated. Considering that the repair is done by Gazprombank, think that everything will be done at the highest level (including interactive and new exhibits).

  • Museum of samovars interesting as recognition of one of the religious objects in Russia in past centuries, without which it is impossible to imagine the life of the past and understand the many works of authors of 18-19 centuries. Samovar in Russia-not just an ordinary subject and indicator of well-being, a key meeting place with family and friends

  • Museum of samovars did not like starting from locker rooms, where customers hang themselves and pull clothing. Like sitting or охраник cloakroom attendant, but he takes no part in the process. So many visitors had their coats and Sheepskin Coats carry. The Museum is undergoing renovations to the ground floor, and exhibits are located in the Hall on the second floor. We were with children 7 years and 2 years the child in the stroller, and didn't want us to Miss Hall, repeating that the entrance to a pram only with the permission of the Director. We rebelled, saying that when buying a ticket nobody notified about it. In response to our question and how we should visit this Hall, said: I was thinking before. Voobshchem after bickering she stopped to push and silently missed us. The Hall with very small samovars, in plohovatom State, the people very much. Samovars are interesting, for every taste. It ends with a huge Samovar with stairs made inside of which a few more items of samovars. The entire examination we spent 10-15 minutes. In General, the impression from this museum is not particularly good. It was to be hoped that the repair will change the situation for the better.
