Zoological Museum, St. Petersburg
(4/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
See skeletons of existing and extinct animals, from tiny living insects to a gargantuan blue whale skeleton and woolly mammoths at Zoological Museum. With tens of thousands of fishes, invertebrates, reptiles, birds, and mammals represented, the museum displays almost every form of animal life on earth. View artifacts in dioramas of taxidermied animals and browse a large collection of skeletons and bones that includes rare specimens, such as narwhal tusks. One of the highlights is the naturally mummified body of a baby mammoth. Most display placards show the names of the species in Russian and Latin, but it's not essential to understand either of these languages to appreciate the exhibit. • A huge Museum with lots of exhibits. Were there in winter frost. Immediately not pleased with ticket office located on the street away from the main entrance, it was very cold, and there was a break in the cashier. Wait for the opening of the ticket office in the lobby of the main entrance. The entire museum could not afford too many exhibits. I advise you to see insects and sea creatures of the Earth's fauna.

  • Visit perhaps still stands, but keep in mind that walk very long. Stuffed is not particularly realistic, even frayed as if. And in general the feeling of neglect and age. Worth a look are the skeleton of the whale and mammoths. The rest is optional)
