Zoological Museum, St. Petersburg

(4/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
See skeletons of existing and extinct animals, from tiny living insects to a gargantuan blue whale skeleton and woolly mammoths at Zoological Museum. With tens of thousands of fishes, invertebrates, reptiles, birds, and mammals represented, the museum displays almost every form of animal life on earth. View artifacts in dioramas of taxidermied animals and browse a large collection of skeletons and bones that includes rare specimens, such as narwhal tusks. One of the highlights is the naturally mummified body of a baby mammoth. Most display placards show the names of the species in Russian and Latin, but it's not essential to understand either of these languages to appreciate the exhibit. • Tickets cost 200 rubles per person, cashier is in the next door from the entrance to the Museum. At the entrance is not written that this entry and, by happy coincidence, the door has been selected correctly. The employees are very friendly and intelligent. The Museum is a little cool in the winter. The exposition itself is big enough, if you love animals and are experiencing the warm emotions to "our lesser brothers", then I would not advise to visit this museum. Through 10 minutes feels like crying from rasterzannyh dogs-cats-rabbits and other things ... The exposition itself is made interesting, just like in scenes from the transmission. Many of the exhibits lots of old and seen what they stupidly colored paint. So don't you understand this now srashhu stuffed or not. On the second floor of the exposition of the insects and butterflies. I do not recommend this movie. For the overall development, too.

  • The Museum run with Frost and several have not regretted. Exhibits very much. Some of them were found about 300 years ago! There are exhibits such as mammoth, which is about 44 years 000000. Surprisingly, the Museum staff for so many years skillfully retain all these treasures. Few people know that this museum was filmed a scene from the beloved film "garage".
