Zoological Museum, St. Petersburg
(4/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
See skeletons of existing and extinct animals, from tiny living insects to a gargantuan blue whale skeleton and woolly mammoths at Zoological Museum. With tens of thousands of fishes, invertebrates, reptiles, birds, and mammals represented, the museum displays almost every form of animal life on earth. View artifacts in dioramas of taxidermied animals and browse a large collection of skeletons and bones that includes rare specimens, such as narwhal tusks. One of the highlights is the naturally mummified body of a baby mammoth. Most display placards show the names of the species in Russian and Latin, but it's not essential to understand either of these languages to appreciate the exhibit. • Go with a friend who knows a lot about animals! Or take a guide. The Museum clearly needs repair! Looking at the diversity of living beings, which are already extinct or on the brink of extinction, you don't want to have children. It's handiwork!

  • A disproportionate number of exhibits of different types of animals. We walked around the animal and 5:00 divisions did not notice how the time flew by. There were many visitors with children, you can see that all interesting for children and adults. Entrance 200 p for adults who are not the beneficiaries. Of course inside would not have prevented at least cosmetic repair. In general it is better to see with my own eyes and I advise to visit.

  • Were Thursday afternoon with a child 3 years. Not many visitors, which is very good. Really liked it! All the animals from around the world. Read reviews that the Museum is not the first freshness. All this is nonsense, of course not, euro but importantly, excellent exposure, for both children and adults. With children, I highly recommend a visit. Of the cons, first wanted to let a small pram, I don't know why, but then allowed.
