  • The Division with the Impressionists, I would easily be able to spend a day. Now the children were with so it was half an hour. But what paintings!!! Much nicer rooms since they moved from the Winter Palace (the same ticket is valid if you go the same day). The signs are so-so (not tested if the guards knew English) but what does it matter. When you come to the right place on the top floor so the Impressionists. And there is room after room with pure joy! And then get an overdose of Picasso thrown in into the rooms next door;-) Anders

  • Surrounding the place square, is this dominating building, it complements its opposite the palace. The eye is drawn to the triumphal arch, that celebrates the victory over Napoleon. Housed within this...  more »
  • Amazing building. The arch can be long here, and yet it gives interesting acoustic effects, so underneath often musicians and crowds during the holidays like whistle and clap, passing. If you get around the building and take a peek at the Palace Square from the bridge of the song, you can admire the surreal acute angle of the building.
