  • The Church was built in honor of a significant event for the country's history-victory over Sweden at Poltava. Originally under the Decree of Tsar Peter the great at this location laid wooden church in thirty years smenivshuju its walls on stone.  In the guise of a building visible characteristics inherent in religious buildings of Moscow or Yaroslavl, were built in the 17 century.  The main value is the unique church carved iconostasis of the first half of the 18 century. Zolochennoe artwork is impressive and beauty and size.  According to rumors, it is here that held the secret wedding of Empress Catherine II and her favorite Grigory Potemkin.
