  • It is a building suitable to the sights of the historic centre of Saint Petersburg University. It is in the former Soviet Union was founded in 1819, the oldest and largest University. In Russia after Moscow State University's prestigious, President Vladimir Putin also seems to come from.

  • Nice to walk around and lovely buildings. Lots of history there with Mendeleev and Putin both studying here. Not worth a detour but nice to see if you're walking past in the vicinity. 
  • The twelve collegia-main building of the University. Built in the early 18 century under government agencies (Board, the Senate, the Synod). Twelve buildings stands adjacent to each other. It was later added to the gallery for the passage between buildings. In 1830, has undergone massive reconstruction needs University during which the Gallery had done built indoor Ballroom. Then the building and became today's appearance. It should be noted that the buildings the University order of three hundred. Not all of them on vasilyevsky.
