  • This stately palace has two distinct spaces. The second floor houses a fairly empty museum of the left-overs from the bolsheviks of what used to be a grand palace. It holds exhibitions and I had a mis...  more »
  • Visited the sheremetev Palace on the Fontanka, where on the ground floor there is a Museum of music, which includes a variety of musical instruments-from tiny Pocket violins-poshett to vertical piano with a funny name "Giraffe")) there is also a horn Orchestra, which, it turns out, is a national view of music-making and has no analogues abroad, and a small accordion "Bug" (according to the legend, founded in Cherepovets), and a collection of violins and harp , harp, guitar, and many other tools which I utter with difficulty)) is located on the second floor of the enfilade halls. I especially liked the Etruscan (antiquity always attracts me), green and Crimson drawing rooms. Unfortunately, the interiors don't shine special luxury, as time and people, alas, are not spared. Sad to look at black and white photos that you can imagine just how beautiful they were before. After the restoration of part of the halls, now open in some exhibitions, sometimes controversial, mm. For example, according to the organizers of the exhibition "Appearance. More than reality: "the exhibition begins with unexpected touches on permanent display in the Sheremetev Palace." and really, when you see on the background of portraits of Praskovya Zhemchugovoj and Nikolai Sheremetev straw costumes bear and ritual masks, to mind somehow comes the phrase from the movie "a Christmas tree" 1914 (I don't even know why I remembered))): "this is a new, fresh, unexpected Russia. We will come and all fall. "while the avant-garde futurists and do not have anything against)) to visit the Museum of Anna Akhmatova this day has already failed, as three museums for one day-a bit much even for me)) hits: as usual, show two museums at once cheaper (300 r. for Enfilade + 70 b. for Museum of music) than on individually-visiting the Museum of music worth 250 p + I still took the audioguide (50 p.) about what does not upset because there not only tells about the history of musical instruments, but you can hear how they sound. However, in some halls included small magnitofonchiki from which very unobtrusively you will hear musical trills)) and if you go to the end of the exposition, then as a last resort you can sit and watch a movie, where did that at polene don't play)) audio guide works and on the second floor, although the information is slightly outdated, but you can get a general idea. In addition, you can download audiotur on the site of the Museum, but I haven't tried.
