  • An excellent Museum, there are unique exhibits. It is better to take a tour, talk to interesting and fun. In one day you can bypass the whole Palace and looking interior rooms. An additional supplement of 70 rudders.

  • I went here having read about it in the cultural history of Russia by Orlando Figes, which was based partly around the fortunes of the Sheremetev family who lived here. They were one of the richest in...  more »
  • Exposition: didn't disappoint and surprise. Spirit is not exciting, but definitely worth a visit. Staff: there are solar ladies who shepnut par-three interesting facts and stories about the exposition or the owners of the Palace. As such, and people create the atmosphere. It is a pity that you so little and thanks that you are! Bonus: concerts and evening. Alas, such was not hit, but have heard of enthusiastic music.

  • Only visited the first floor of the palace, where they have a wide arrangement of different types of instruments. The reason why I give it a three out of five is twofold: on their website it says that it is 100 rubbles for students (irrelative to the country they study in), but the cashier told us it is in only for students studying in the Russian Federation, and second, they have a grand, attractive poster by the cashier desk claiming that they have an audio guide via the app 'izi.travel', but in reality it is only for the second floor. They didn't even bother to take the track numbers off from the instruments on the first floor! Overall, there isn't much information about the instruments, but it is worth it if you are into seeing archaic Western, Russian, and Oriental instruments. The first reason is a matter of principle...they should definitely update their website.
  • I visited only the second floor, and it was absolutely beautiful, the restoration was a success and the halls and rooms will leave you in awe.
  • Keep up the good job. Get that stradivari back.
  • Great historical location, good concert programme
  • Awesome

Where to stay in St. Petersburg

For luxury hotels with a price tag to match, you can't beat the city's historical heart--Palace Square--and Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue that connects the square to the Neva River. The area around St. Isaac's Cathedral, at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, also offers a great selection of luxury and mid-range options. If you want to see the other side of the city, consider staying on Vasilyevsky Island, at the mouth of the river. Increased competition means that St. Petersburg now offers a wide range of inexpensive but funky hostels scattered throughout the city.
